The author just can't make up his mind whether the new Serbian left is but a bunch of sissies (he does brag about them being too gentle, etc.) or are they the new Stalinist iron fist. He seems to believe they are both at the same time, and is not bothered by his own contradictory statements. But why should he be? He's just through describing what he calls the "real Left" as a discourse of pater familias and of the national pride, so apparently he thinks that "anything goes", that he can say (and that it will go unnoticed) that the new Left should in fact be no different than the Right. Well, let's not disturb this authors wishful thinking too much...
