Dimitri Sims takes out a key factor in his analysis about Georgia-the role of Israel-so he fails to give a convincing conclusion about the situation in the region.
Sakashvili counts heavily on his usefulness to Israel( two members of his cabinet are Israeli citizens- as his secretary of defense) and that conditions his behaviour. Israel was heavilly involved in training Georgian special forces and supplying arms to Georgia, since Georgia was supposed to serve as a base for Israeli aircrafts during their eventual attack on Iranian nuclear instalations.
On the other hand,Obama's administration, especially Biden, is totally committed (better said submitted) to Israel's strategic needs- the fact which must be taken into account by anybody pretending to be a serious analyst of that part of the world.
