This article takes an assumption that the true goal of this NATO intervention was identical to the stated goal. But, the true goal of this NATO intervention was not any different then the goal in Afganistan. The true goal of all NATO military interventions is to create conditions under which excellent money can be made on semi-legal (stealing the local resources) and totally-illegal activities (drugs, armaments, women and now even human organs). This is because the opportunities to make money quickly do not exist under normally organised society of competing interests and supplies. The true goal of each NATO military intervention is always to empower one side in conflict and allow it to make extraordinary profits, which Western & NATO aligned persons then share with local beneficiaries. Another name for this is: "War is a racket!".

The' true goal' may most simply be, to establish another military base in a strategic area (talking about Iran but meaning-Russia). Cannt see any material proffit out of this most impoverished part of of the Balkans.
